West Indies Rising Stars Start ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Title Campaign

The West Indies Under 19 Rising Stars kickstart their ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup in South Africa on Friday against the home team in Potchefstroom. First ball is at 4am Eastern Caribbean/3am Jamaica Time.

The Stephen Pascal-led squad are coming off a 6-wicket win over New Zealand in their first warm-up match but had their second match against Nepal abandoned due to rain.

Head coach Rohan Nurse said the young men were excited and are wary of the challenge that the home team will bring to them. Nurse said

“The spirit has been good, and the players are in a good space and they’re looking forward to tomorrow. These young men are on a journey to write their West Indian story and they are very much capable of performing as well as any of the other teams in the tournament. They’re ready to do themselves proud and do the region proud when they step onto the field.”

All matches start at 4am Eastern Caribbean/3am Jamaica time. Fans in the Caribbean can watch all the matches live on ESPN and access live ball-by-ball scoring here at the Windies Cricket Match Center.
