Barbados have been crowned champions of the West Indies Rising Stars Boys’ Under 17s Regional limited overs tournament. This following the wash out of the fifth and final round on matches on Sunday.
The Bajans ended the white ball segment with 16.2 points ahead of Trinidad and Tobago with 16 points. They were followed by Jamaica (11.6 points), Guyana (1-.4 points), Windward Islands (7.6 points) and Leeward Islands (6.2 points).
The teams will now turn their attention to the two-day tournament. This bowls off on Wednesday 23 August at 10am (9am Jamaica Time). The opening round will see Trinidad and Tobago hosting Leewards at Inshan Ali Park, Windwards meet Barbados at PowerGen and Jamaica and Guyana do battle at the national Cricket Centre in Couva.
