KINGSTON, JAMAICA – The West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) warmly congratulates the Guyana Amazon Warriors on winning the 2023 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) title, the Amazon Warriors’ first CPL title.
The Guyana Amazon Warriors became CPL 2023 champions with a comprehensive 9-wicket win over the Trinbago Knight Riders on Sunday, September 24, 2023, ending a 10-year drought, having lost in the finals five (5) previous years; 2013, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2019. The Amazon Warriors were dominant all tournament, having completed the group stages at the top of the table with eight (8) wins.
WIPA further congratulates the management of the Caribbean Premiere League (CPL), Cricket West Indies (CWI), the six (6) CPL franchises and the five (5) participating governments on yet another successful tournament.
