KINGSTON, JAMAICA – The West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) congratulates the West Indies Senior Men’s Team on a comprehensive T20I series win over Australia.

The West Indies men won the CG Insurance T20 International series 4-1, registering their first series win vs Australia in any format since 1995. The team played good, entertaining cricket, with West Indian fans being treated to spectacular performances throughout the series. WIPA applauds coach Phil Simmons, stand-in captain Nicholas Pooran, the coaching and support staff, and the entire squad on a job well done.

WIPA also congratulates Christopher Gayle on reaching the milestone of 14,000 T20 runs, the first and only player to do so.

WIPA President and CEO, Wavell Hinds, shared his sentiments in a statement, “Congratulations on a convincing T20I series win. It was a great team effort with outstanding performances from quite a few players. This augurs well for the future of West Indies cricket and we look forward to and wish for you all continued success.”
