GEORGETOWN, Guyana (CMC):Jamaica Franchise, leading Guyana Jaguars by 22 runs, were 22 for one in their second innings at the close on the second day of their eighth round match in the WICB Professional Cricket League at the National Stadium yesterday.

Leon Johnson (78) and Rajindra Chandrika (69) made solid half centuries, but Jamaica will take a 44-run lead into today’s third day of the four-day encounter.

The destroyer for Jamaica was leg-spinner Damion Jacobs who bagged five for 67.

Scores: Jamaica 258 (Jermaine Blackwood 58, Chadwick Walton 58, John Campbell 48, Tamar Lambert 34; Veerasammy Permaul 5-77, Devendra Bishoo 4-62) and 22 for one.

Guyana 236 (Leon Johnson 78, Rajindra Chandrika 69, Assad Fudadin 29, Narsingh Deonarine 23; Damion Jacobs 5-67).

At National Cricklet Centre: Trinidad and Tobago Red Force, replying to Windward Islands Volcanoes’ 350, reached 228 for four in their first innings and the close.

At Warner Park: Barbados Pride, replying to Leeward Islands Hurricanes’ 215, were 268 for six in their first innings at the close.
