KINGSTON, JAMAICA – The West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) expresses condolences at the passing of former Trinidad and Tobago and West Indies cricketer, Charles ‘Charlie’ Davis.
Charles Allan Davis was born on January 1st, 1944, in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. Davis was a solid right-hand middle-order batsman for the West Indies in the 1960’s and early 70’s who had four (4) half-centuries and four (4) centuries in 15 Tests, scoring his first Test century at Lord’s in his third Test. He would end his Test career with a high-score of 183 and an average of 54.20. Davis died on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 82 years.
WIPA President and CEO, Wavell Hinds, remarked, “The cricketing fraternity is saddened at the passing of Charles Davis. May his soul rest in peace; we extend our condolences to his family and friends.”
