WIPA extends its condolences to the family of Rangy Nanan

KINGSTON, Jamaica: The executive and members of the West Indies Players’ Association wish to extend their deepest condolences to the family and friends of Rangy Nanan who passed away today at the age of 62.

Mr. Nanan although having only played in one Test match for the West Indies where he took 4 wickets had a successful First-class career representing Trinidad and Tobago. He played 94 matches taking 366 wickets at an average of 23.10 with 20 five-fors.

At the time of his retirement from cricket he held the honour of being the leading wicket-taker in the Shell Shield Competition.

Mr Nanan also served as one of the national team selectors for Trinidad and Tobago.

On learning of Mr Nanan’s passing WIPA’s President and CEO, Wavell Hinds expressed “Our thoughts and prayers at this time are with his family, his friends, Trinidad and Tobago and the West Indian cricket community.
