BASSETERRE, St Kitts – West Indies captain Jason Holder spoke to members of the media after the final match of the series against England. It brought an end to seven weeks of highly-competitive and entertaining cricket. Windies recorded a 2-1 win in the Wisden Trophy Test Series – capturing the prestigious trophy for the first time since 2009. The Colonial Medical Insurance ODI Series ended 2-2 with one match washed out; while England won 3-0 in the Sandals Twenty20 Series.

“This was a special series for us as we showed that we can play well, we can compete and we can and win against teams ranked higher. The Test Series was exceptional and the ODI Series equally as good. The T20 Series just wasn’t ours, we were outplayed, but we would say we did well overall against England and we are happy with the success we had in the last six to seven weeks,” Holder said.
“Credit to all the fans who came out here in St Kitts and all the fans throughout this entire series who came out and supported us at every stage. In the Test matches we had magnificent support, the fans stuck with us during the ODIs and they never left us in the T20s. It was great to see supporters are coming back to West Indies cricket and we want them to keep believing as we keep aiming high to put in those good performances and bring back West Indies cricket to the top.”
