The Leeward Islands Cricket Board (LICB) will soon be searching for a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), after Richard Berridge left the job in early September.
LICB President Enoch Lewis confirmed Berridge’s exit, stating that he had to attend to urgent family business in the US.
“He has migrated to the US as of September 1, and so he is no longer with the franchise; we are without a CEO right now. We haven’t actually put out the ad for a new CEO, but that will happen soonest,” he said.
“Meanwhile, the guy on the ground, our operations manager Vernon Springer and the rest of the persons in the office, are doing the work. We also have Peter Abraham whom we have included in terms of the administration,” he added.
Berridge was announced as the organisation’s CEO in November 2015, thereby replacing Antigua’s Derrick Nicholas in that position.
The hunt for a new CEO, Lewis said, will start once the Board has secured the necessary funding required to compensate the lucky applicant.
“I am engaging a private consultant to put some programmes together to draft those proposals so we can make some approaches to the private sector and in some cases to the government, to try and get some resources. Once that is done and I believe we are talking about three to four months, we’ll put some applications out there and ask persons to apply for the job as LICB CEO,” he said.
The Leeward Islands Hurricanes will open their Four Day Professional Cricket League (PCL) campaign when they face Barbados starting November 11.
