Brooks with the Bat, Reifer with the Ball – Windies A in Driver’s Seat Against India A

July 12, 2018

DIFFERENT STORY FOR THE 50-OVERS CATEGORY

The WINDIES A unit were not so fortunate in the 50-overs version of the tour, as they ended the tri-nation series winless.

The management unit is however optimistic that with less than a year to go before the CWC 2019, “once a WINDIES unit can score 300 runs or more consistently, that will be what is required for any team to be competitive in the Cricket World Cup 2019.”

While the conditions were brilliant for cricket on and off the field, the management has said “with specific work in key areas, the players will adjust after weeks of intense sessions in a high-performance program. We have seen some areas of promise, but we think more can be done in the starts and rotation in the middle. We are hoping for our opening batsmen to improve their strike rates.”

The management has also identified that “Jason Mohammed put on a promising show with two centuries and a half century. There were also promising signs from Chandrapaul Hemraj who had decent starts. “
