The only other players batting in the top seven to grab a pair twice in the same year were Mohinder Amarnath (vs West Indies, 1983) and Mark Waugh (vs Sri Lanka, 1992).

281 by Pakistan in their first innings is the second lowest total for a team with at least four individual fifty-plus scores after 275 by New Zealand against Pakistan in Hamilton in 2011 (all out innings only).

142* by Kraigg Brathwaite is the third century by a West Indies opener against Pakistan outside home and the highest of the three. The others to hit were Len Baichan in 1975 and Desmond Haynes in 1990.

2 Five wicket hauls for Wahab Riaz in Tests. He took 5/88 in West Indies first innings. The only other instance came during his debut, six years ago against England at the Oval in August 2010.

7 Brathwaite became the seventh West Indies opening batsman to carry the bat in Test cricket. He is first to do so in UAE. Brathwaite also became the first opening batsman ever to remain unbeaten in both innings of a Test match.
