Stafanie Taylor will play a key role for the West Indies at ICC Women’s World Cup with the tournament being her first as captain.

We’re fast approaching the eleventh edition of the ICC Women’s World Cup and have decided to look at how all eight teams have fared at previous tournaments.

Entering their sixth Women’s World Cup, the West Indies made it to the Final in 2013 but fell short of victory to Australia. With a powerful batting line-up and the most recent World T20 title behind them, the West Indies will be wanting to lift the trophy come July 23.

Ranked as the number one women’s ODI all-rounder, Stafanie Taylor will play a key role for the West Indies at ICC Women’s World Cup with the tournament being her first as captain.

Taylor will be looking to build on her 2013 campaign where she finished as the tournament’s second-highest run-scorer with 314 runs.

Her team will have a mix of youth and experience with four uncapped players being named – Reniece Boyce, Quiana Joseph, Akeira Peters and Felicia Walters.

Boyce, the 19-year-old wicketkeeper-batter, and Walters, the 25-year-old top-order batter and part-time medium pacer, are both from Trinidad & Tobago, while Joseph is a 16-year-old fast bowler from St Lucia and Peters a 23-year-old left-handed all-rounder from Grenada.

Shanel Daley also returns to the side after being out with an injury.

The squad: Stafanie Taylor (capt), Merissa Aguilleira (wk), Reniece Boyce, Shamilia Connell, Shanel Daley, Deandra Dottin, Afy Fletcher, Quiana Joseph, Kyshona Knight, Hayley Matthews, Anisa Mohammed, Chedean Nation, Akeira Peters, Shakera Selman, Felicia Walters.
