Cricket boss happy with new and improved meeting room

April 29, 2015

A well-furnished conference room provides the ideal atmosphere for big decision-making.

That was the consensus as the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) yesterday unveiled its recently refurbished meeting room at Sabina Park.

The work done, valued at $1.2 million, included refinishing furniture, installing two new air- conditioning units and redoing the decor. It is part of a new three-year deal between Courts Jamaica and the JCA.

“I feel very elated about this partnership with Courts Jamaica. It has given the boardroom a corporate image… we now have a nicely laid out boardroom. I always believe the outcome of many things are influenced by your surroundings and you need to have good surroundings to be comfortable,” said Wilford ‘Billy’ Heaven, the JCA boss.

“We are hoping to take it to that level, but everything starts somewhere. We have a three-year partnership with them for maintaining the boardroom for us. After that we can see how else they can support the activities of the JCA. We look forward to working with Courts on other projects,” the JCA president said.

Heaven also noted the role played by Janet Sylvester, the director of marketing at Courts, in putting the partnership together.

Ann-Marie Walters, the director of sales at Courts, pointed out her company’s involvement in sports, including netball, football as well as cricket, most noticeably through the partnership with Caribbean Premier League (CPL) Twenty20 tournament.

“The colours and the ambience we try to set we hope it can help to make great decisions in this room. Courts is always associated with any sport in Jamaica because it is really a good avenue for us,” Walters said.
