Her teammates had tears in their eyes, the support staff watched with paused breaths as Shakera Selman was stabilized, placed in a neck brace and driven off the field by the emergency medical personnel during the West Indies Women’s warmup match against India last Saturday in Brisbane.

Diagnosed with a case of whiplash, Shakera is back on the mend and training with the team, as they prepare to take on Thailand at the WACA in Perth in their opening group B match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
