WIPA Applauds Educational Achievement of Members

The West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) wishes to congratulate all the members of the association who have completed tertiary level studies for the year 2016.

WIPA is proud of the accomplishments of its members in this regard. We believe this is a move that will only serve to advance individuals and the sport. Moreover, it better assists players for the transition to life after cricket. Andrew Richardson, who recently completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management, told WIPA he unreservedly recommends this step to all players because “no one can take an education away from you.” WIPA would like to specially congratulate Mr. Richardson, and wish him all the best as he seeks to serve the region in Sports Administration. We must also make special note of Chadwick Walton who not only completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Accounting, but also went on to complete a Masters degree in Sports Science. Congratulations Mr. Walton, you are a great example to others that it is possible to successfully complete undergraduate and graduate level studies even while successfully pursuing a cricket career.

WIPA therefore takes this opportunity to once again encourage all our members to take advantage of our education, training and development programme. The programme provides tuition support, offers a wide range of opportunities from CXCs to Masters Degrees, and can be tailored to an individual’s schedule. WIPA is happy to assist, and continues its drive towards member development, and the development of West Indies Cricket.
