KINGSTON, JAMAICA – The West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) has been informed that the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) has made charges against West Indies wicketkeeper/batsman, Devon Thomas.
The ICC has provisionally suspended Thomas with immediate effect for several charges under the ICC Anti-Corruption code. Thomas has 14 days to respond to these charges.
WIPA supports efforts to rid the game of cricket of corruption. WIPA has assiduously worked, often in partnership with Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the Federation of International Cricketers’ Associations (FICA), to educate, advise and provide various levels of support to players on matters concerning their personal and professional welfare, rights, and responsibilities. We will continue with those efforts as we seek to help to protect the integrity and good name of our players and the sport we love.
