BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – West Indies second-string wicketkeeper Chadwick Walton tops the list of 34 players announced by Combined Campuses and Colleges to begin preparation for the upcoming WICB Super50 Championship in Trinidad & Tobago.
The gloveman, who is also an attacking right-hander, is currently part of the West Indies squad in South Africa for the three-Test series, which bowls off Wednesday.
Walton turned down a contract to represent Jamaica in the first class season due to his studies, and was not part of the Professional Cricket League draft.
The 29-year-old represented CCC in the last first class season, and was one of their leading scorers with 439 runs, including a century and four half-centuries.
The CCC squad will train at the 3W’s Oval here and engage in trials matches at the same venue starting tomorrow (Tuesday).
The CCC will play alongside defending champions Barbados Pride, Guyana Jaguars and Windward Islands Volcanoes in the Super50, which runs from January 13-26.
