Pollard returns to T&T line-up

West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard will return to the national cricket team for its clash against Windward Islands in the West Indies Cricket Board Professional Cricket League at the National Cricket Centre in Couva, which bowls off on Friday.

After suffering a leg injury in the Nagico Super50 tournament, which T&T won, Pollard has only been competing for his club team Queen’s Park Cricket Club.

Manager of the national team Roland Sampath is happy to have Pollard back in the T&T squad.

Sampath said: “He is an international palyer, he will lend a lot to the team.” T&T is hoping Pollard will continue his top form with the bat as the team is looking for back-to-back wins.

Playing for Queen’s Park in the Shanghai Construction Group National League over the weekend, Pollard slammed an unbeaten 128 off 114 balls, which included 15 sixes and five fours.

In the last round T&T crushed Jamaica by 179 runs at Sabina Park, Jamaica behind performances from Kjorn Ottley and Imran Khan.

Ottley was unfortunate not to get his maiden first class century when he was dismissed for 99 in the second innings, while leg spinner Khan grabbed eight wickets in the match.
