Khan stars as T&T stuns Jamaica

Imran Khan’s incredible bowling performance late yesterday afternoon at Sabina Park, Kingston, gave T&T an emphatic 178-run win over Jamaica in round seven of the West Indies Cricket Board Professional Cricket League.

At 172/5 in the third session yesterday on day three, Jamaica seemed to be taking the match into the final day. Unfortunately for the Jamaicans, they lost five wickets for six runs, dismissed for 178 chasing a challenging 357 for victory.

Jamaica had no answers for Khan, as the leg spinner ended with 6/24 from 10 overs. Earlier in the innings, John Campbell made an aggressive 83 to help Jamaica to a strong 128/2 at tea.

Despite a solid effort from West Indian player Jermaine Blackwood (52) it all went downhill for Jamaica in the final session.

Starting the day on 184/4 in the second innings, T&T left-hander Kjorn Ottley was unfortunately dismissed for 99 as the visitors got to 246 all out, an overall lead of 356 runs.

At the Beausejour Cricket Ground in St Lucia, Windwards Islands wrapped up a nine-wicket victory over Leeward Islands.

In Barbados, Guyana closed day three on 41/0 chasing 333 for victory.
