Cricket Calypso Lyrics

WIPA is committed to documenting the lyrics of the scores (pun intended) of 'cricket calypsoes' that have been sung and/or recorded since 1929. Through the efforts of Nasser Khan and Ray Funk we bring you the first set of many that have recorded the triumphs and thrills over the years (and a couple of defeats too such as 'Gavaskar' in 1971). Calypso and cricket go hand in hand with West Indian culture and can be considered as two of the strongest ties that bind us together as a region. In fact our cricketers were dubbed from early on as 'CALYPSO CRICKETERS'.
