    WIPA in the Community, is a cricket development initiative, by WIPA in partnership with Atlantic LNG. The objectives of the WIPA in the Community initiative are to introduce the game of cricket to the Point Fortin public starting at the grass root level and to create a cricket culture amongst the community by providing coaching to students, members of clubs and others in the Point Fortin community also with special attention placed on the personal development of participants.

 

    WIPA in the Community - was launched on October 14, 2007 at the South West Indoor Regional Sport Facility. It was expected and currently is the forerunner of similar programs in other parts of Trinidad & Tobago and other West Indian territories. The program is under the guidance of WIPA’s Cricket Development Manager, Suruj Ragoonath, a former T&T captain and West Indies Test player, who holds a Level 11 Coaching Certificate, the highest level available in the West Indies.
