Dwayne Bravo expects to be ready for Hero CPL

THE Hero Caribbean Premier League will be the next time Trinidad and Tobago allrounder Dwayne Bravo suits up for a professional outfit.
According to the former West Indies One Day International captain, while surgery on a torn hamstring last year in Australia’s Big Bash League was successful, he will not rush to return to professional cricket.

“I want to give myself the best chance of coming back and playing the way I usually play, which is give 100% and do all the crazy things I do. I am not going to rush into anything. My target is to keep training and get my entire body in shape,” said Bravo.
The all rounder, who signed with the Gujarat Lions in the Indian Premier League but could not play because of the injury, said he will play in an exhibition game on Friday but will be careful to see where he is in terms of his recovery.
“I’ll bowl two overs, maybe, just to see how it is getting back. International cricket is different,” he said.

According to Bravo, the signs are good though and he is much closer to beng the player he was before the injury.
“I have improved a lot. I am closer to playing now than I was three-four months ago. The surgery itself was successful. It’s just a matter of continuing my rehab programme. I don’t want to rush things, it’s a very severe injury. I want to make sure I am feeling good and comfortable in my mind,” he said.
Bravo plies his trade in the CPL for the Trinbago Knight Riders.
