Brathwaite’s ton the trial match highlight

A century by opener Kemar Brathwaite was the highlight on the opening day of the first Barbados Pride three-day trial match at Kensington Oval today.

Sent in to bat by captain Roston Chase, the Kevin Stoute XI ended the day on 347 for five off 90 overs in their first innings. Brathwaite made 132 in 207 minutes of batting where he faced 144 balls and hit 22 boundaries.

Also showing good form today was fellow opener Shayne Moseley. Moseley, recently returned from a successful league season in England, made an accomplished 63 in 154 minutes at the crease where he faced 125 balls and struck 10 boundaries.

Also getting among the runs was Craig St Hill who made 58. Captain Stoute made 38 and at the close Kenroy Williams was unbeaten on 20 and Mario Rampersaud, 13.

Justin Greaves has so far taken 3 for 51.
